This is a complete guide on how to Drastically improve your builds in Minecraft. Something to think About: When your in a server the typical thing to think about is ranking up. A rank is some thing that you get rewarded for not what you HAVE to have. There is so many times i hear people saying "I never get ranked" or "I have been on this server for so long and i am still a builder...". Well ranks are basically nothing because if you really think about it what can the do that you cant. Ooo they can Cuboid and fly there so much better than you...No there not that means they dont wanna do they work, aka LAZY. Builder's are as much appreciated as higher ranks. If you really wanna be ranked just make your own server. One more thing to add NEVER ask to be ranked if they like what your doing they will if not well i dont know what to say. Just some thing you should take into consideration.
Improving your builds: *So lets say you have an amazing design for a build you want to do. These are the steps you are going want to take to make sure its as good as possible. So firsts things first always make sure what you building is not just square ( But Minecrafts a square game...I know that). In some cases its OK to have a square building but 99.9% of the time its not. You will want to add some textures that are different from what you built your building out of to make it look more fancy. Also make a cool roof, maybe arched or rounded. Then after you do that make the edges of your building curved or indented 1 or 2 blocks. The last thing is ALWAYS add windows to your build because with out windows it will look like a prison. In some cases builds have to not have windows and that's Ok just make it look good. To improve your builds you may wanna try this. Instead of making a train station, put a train in it with smoke and everything. Instead of making a plane or blimp make it exploding. These are the things that make people go "WOAH".
Themes to your Builds: *Themes; is one of the best ways to make a build or city pop and make it unique to Minecraft. Making a city or build have a theme really makes it look like you put A LOT of time into it. If your not sure what a theme is this is my definition for a Minecraft theme. It is a series of blocks that you pick out that you use in different ways usually including 3-4 different kinds of blocks. Even putting trimming on the outside of a build will greatly improve what it looks like.
Theme Ideas: *Iron Blocks, Stone, Cobblestone
*Nether-rack, Stone, Cobblestone
*Lapis Blocks, Stone, Cobblestone
~To these themes you can add anything stone related to them and they will still look amazing.
*Redwood, Planks, Log
There are many more themes out there you just have to find them...
What not to Build out of: These are the items you should never build out of-
-Wool (Any color)
~These items you can use in your builds just don't Build complete buildings out of them.
~You can make these items work with you just use them in a way that makes it stand out.
How to Rank up by building cool things: *The best advice i can give is this... To get attention on a build that you think is good speak out, Dont just sit there saying (No one likes me) or (I cant build). Speak out about it and dont put your self down. It takes practice to be a good builder all you have to do is build build build. Another thing is take your time and NEVER rush a build. A good build should take days maybe weeks. So as a result never rush and always do as best as you can.
How to meet good builders: *Ok this might sound harsh but dont be a Dick to people just to make your self feel good. To meet and make friends on a server is to be nice make cool things and show people and most importantly have fun. To many times people take Minecraft WAY to seriously but what you really should do is have a great time. Get involved, what i mean by that is any time a server is doing a contest or a game do it because its fun and you meet new people that you may have never talked to or hang out with. Dont make some thing people have already seen. Make some thing very and i mean VERY out of the ordinary. If some one said "Hey come look at my city...Can you rate it for me?" I already have a idea of what its going to look like. It would probably have a big building in the middle with shops around it and maybe some plots for people to build in right? Well make it different, i have some ideas of what different could be but i want you to think of what different means to you.
Make a City or Town: *Making a City or Town is a great way to show people what you have and to show off that you are not normal your better than normal. Invite people to your city to see it and have people try to match you building style. Before long you have a bustling city with building's going up and people actually thinking your an amazing person and builder. A good thing to add to a city or town is a Theme as you can read at the top of this page.
~I truly hope this guide helped you and if it did leave a comment on this saying what it helped you with or how it changed the way you build today...

Good guide, I agree with circle that all blocks are useable u just have to know how. ALthough i dont believe this is all yours if any of it is yours. E.g.
" To improve your builds you may wanna try this. Instead of making a train station, put a train in it with smoke and everything. Instead of making a plane or blimp make it exploding. These are the things that make people go "WOAH". "
Ive seen this in :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBI7A-goQHg&feature=watch_response_rev He mentions how adding something dynamic to a build makes it much better such as a train station with an actual train or instead of a blimp make a blimp exploding.
I just want to know if it is copied or u have taken bits and added ur own.
Overall nice guide +1 :P
